What's a tasty little Americanized version of a dish from another country?
Why tacos of course!
Tacos are an old family fallback of ours. They're fairly quick and easy to make. This recipe uses bagged taco flavoring. Later in the summer, I'll be provided with information on how to make my own taco flavoring.
Calories: Ha! Nothing about this recipe is from a book, thus NO CALORIE COUNTING.
Prep: Defrost hamburger. Collect two skillets, a wooden spoon, and bowls to serve in.
Ingredients:
1 pound of hamburger, defrost
2 tomatoes
1/4 head of lettuce
1/8 block of cheese
1 can of refried beans
Cooking:
In one of the cast iron skillets, brown the hamburger meat. It's important to make sure all the meat is browned.
While the meat is browning, you can slice up the tomatoes into cubes, and the lettuce. The cheese should be grated. The beans can be placed in a microwave safe glass bowl, ready to be heated.
As soon as its all cut up, and the meat is browned, you can heat the beans (using the vegetable setting). Follow the directions on the packet to mix the seasonings with water and let the meat simmer, stirring occasionally.
Vamos a comer cena!
(*this might not be complete. I'll be back to check later.*)
